While I'm improving Yeti3D engine for iPhone (or better - adding things I want to add to it), I've decided to create a small game based on that code. It's basically a Pac Man clone - but you (as Pac Man) are a man in a 3D maze and instead of ghost there are 3D human enemies.
Q&A
What's iPac3D?
It's a small game (not yet finished but fully playable) that makes you "Pac Man". You are in a labyrinth and you have to eat all the pills (actually all the "cubes" :-)...) in order to pass to next level. Easy? Not so much - considering that in that labyrinth there are wandering buddies that want to stop you. Their touch is hurting - and you have NOT weapon this time. In the labyrinth there are also special "cubes" that makes you a buddies killer - but just for a short while.
Game is based of my port of Yeti3D. Wall gfx made using Genetica Viewer. 3D enemy model is from polycount site.
What's Yeti3D?
Yeti3D is the name of a great 2003 3D game engine by Derek John Evans - created (as far as I know) for GameBoyAdvanced - and ported for several portable gaming device (I saw it for the first time on my GP32)
Does Yeti3D/iPac3D use OpenGL?
Nope. Can't imagine why people tells that. It's all software rendering.
How many levels are there in this game?
15, and you can play them with three different difficulty level.
What's the best input pad?
I prefer splitted pad - and I usually play portrait - but it depends. People I saw playing iPac3D usually plays landscape with normal pad.
How can I move using Accelerometer option?
It's simple (at least to describe)! Move your iPhone changing its "angle" forward backward left or right and you move in the same way.
Is iPac3D free?
Yes, it is. iPac3D is absolutely free. Download it and play it. I hope you like it. You owe me nothing.
So why you ask for donations?
Because - even if iPac3D is free - I won't mind if you show your appreciation with a small gift. And spare change is fine - using PayPal button over there. But if you prefer I would love to see your appreciation even with something else. A postcard, for instance. Or a (even used) book, or CD. Or anything you think is good to thanks me - if you think I should be thanked for my "work".
Do you know how many iPhone user downloaded your app?
If my site stats are good - a lot of them :-). More than 150k unique users took a look at these pages (iPac3D and Yeti3D) since Yeti3D was released (more or less a month ago) and most of them downloaded the files. I'm glad IndicHost didn't complain about that :-D
Can I have your source code?
Yes. As long as I stop working on that I'll release the source code. I should thank a lot of people all around the web for what I've learned from their source code and I think it's good to let others to take advantage of my work. And a part from that - Derek's code (that's the 3D engine under this game) is GPL - so it'll be iPac3D.
Who's Marco Giorgini, anyway?
Marco Giorgini is an Italian computer programmer, that lives in Modena. He works in the semantic/linguistic field (R&D for one of the major Italian software houses in that field). iPhone and games are ones of his hobbies.

Game almost completed now. UI changes, ten levels to play with, special pills that makes you able to "eat" your enemies now works, three different difficulty levels, start-up menu, hi-scores and more. Now - my humble opinion - iPac3D may not be 100% completed - but it has all the things needed to make it a "real" game (even if - of course - a simple one)

Accelerometer mode now is selectable in in-game options screen
Up-Down zero for Accelerometer is taken when user click on Start
Package is now ONLY under Applications/iPac3D.app folder (this should fix permits problem under root's Media folder...). To compensate this change resource files now are compressed.
