Yeti3D is the name of a great 2003 3D game engine by Derek John Evans - created (as far as I know) for GameBoyAdvanced - and ported for several portable gaming device (I saw it for the first time on my GP32)

THIS Yeti3D application is an iPhone game based on that source code, elaborated by Marco Giorgini.
Yeti3D for iPhone is a FREE game. You have NOT to pay for it - even if your support for the time spent for it would be really appreciated :-).


Q&A

What's Yeti3D for iPhone?
It's a 3D game - more or less similar to Doom - but with lights, 3D enemies and 3D objects on screen. I'ts not Quake. You can say it's something in the middle.

Is it playable - at the moment?
Well, yes. It's fast. You have health, ammo, enemies and bonus. BUT at the moment you have just ONE level (the Evans original one) and nothing happens when you "clean" it - if you're able to do so. But that's NOW. I'm working on it to add features and to create a "real" small game out of it.

Can I see it so to think if I really want to put it on my iPhone?
Yes, sure. These are screenshot of the game.

     

Great Graphics! Is it yours?
Nope. As stated before the current level is Evans original one (and I think he took texture from other games too - but I'm not sure of it). Gfx - so - is not (at all) the definitive one AND iPhone version won't have this specific level. I'm using it because it was already there - but Yeti3D for iPhone will be a game with its own gfx and gaming structure. I'm working on a level editor and two friends of mine are going to work on gfx and models soon. BTW: the 3D model (a quake 2 mdl file) is from polycount

Who's Marco Giorgini, anyway?
Marco Giorgini is an Italian computer programmer, that lives in Modena. He works in the semantic/linguistic field (R&D for one of the major Italian software houses in that field). iPhone and games are ones of his hobbies.

Re-aligned with iPac3D changes. Now it's (almost) a full game (but for single level issue) with menus, options, hi-scores and so on. And you can play it even with Accelerometer.

Updated GUI (as for iPac3D) - and maybe fixed problems with user input :-)

Game cycle is more or less completed now. When you die you can play again without restarting the whole application. Time heals you. When you kill enemies you got extra ammo. You can put the game in pause clicking on the Map (upper right of the screen). Brightness's been improved. Virtual Pad's been changed (and I hope - improved).
